Artist Statement.

My work is about presence, the quiet kind that doesn’t ask for attention but fills the room once you notice it. I paint women as I see them in real life: layered, strong, uncertain, soft, and constantly becoming. Each piece begins as a conversation with silence, a way to see what lives underneath the surface.

The flowers that appear in my portraits are not decoration. They are extensions of the women themselves, a language for growth, memory, and resilience. They remind me that beauty and strength can exist at the same time, that softness can hold power.

I am drawn to the moments we don’t often talk about: the waiting, the pause before clarity, the times when we feel most human. Through oil painting, I try to capture that space between who we show to the world and who we are when everything goes quiet.

Painting, for me, is a way to see truth more clearly, without noise or performance. It is how I stay connected to myself and to others, through something honest that words cannot always reach.
